What to do if a morkie that you are watching goes after your cat?

I'm watching a 4 pound Morkie for six days that started Wednesday evening. Tonight, Sunday, he aggressively went after my cat. The cat has a room with his litter box, food and water, but timidly made his way into the room we were in. When the dog realized he was in the room he bolted for him. I picked him up and freed my kitty. He's not injured, but pretty freaked out. Any advice?

Many dogs have strong prey drives and will chase cats; all you can do is keep them separated. Being a cat owner and wanting to board dogs in your home may continue to pose an issue for you and your cat long term

Definitely should have introduced them during the meet and greet and then it wouldn’t have been an issue because 1. You knew the dog liked chasing cats after the meet and greet, or 2. You don’t accept, because he doesn’t like your cat
