Dog boarding hours - pickup/drop off thresholds?

Hi everyone!

Is there a certain threshold for the time of the day after which a dog boarding request should roll over into 2 nights? For example, a client drops off a dog at 8am Saturday, and picks the dog up Sunday afternoon - depending on when the pickup happens, does that affect the booking? Example - If the pickup on Sunday is before, say 4pm, does it count as 1 night, but if the pickup is after 4pm, do I charge the client 1 night of boarding (Saturday night) and 1 day of doggy day care?

Thank you for your help!

Rover's charges by night are for 24-hour periods. If the stay exceeds a billing interval, you have the ability (and should) charge for the overage. I give customers a couple of hours leeway, but after that, then they're going to be charged for daycare, depending on the amount of time. You can pro rate the daily charge or, if the overage is for 8 hours or more, then you are justified in charging for another entire day.

Find out the dropoff and pickup times at the M&G or via messages. Then it is easy to adjust the bill before the client initially pays. Afterward, then you can use the "Extend a Stay" feature.

As Karen said, it is based on a 24 hr period for 1 day. If they pick up earlier on the pick up date, I don't refund any money. When I "accept" the stay, I send a request asking the owner what time they will drop off and pick up. If they are picking up several hours later than their drop time, depending on the owner, I may or may not charge for day care. It would depend on the reason they are late. If they are always late picking up, I will raise their rates for the next stay. I don't do that for my business travelers. Most of the time they have to extend the stay because they get in to late to pick up. I have "open" and "closed" hours.
