Creative advertising?

I'm new to Rover (yay!) and I need some advice about how to start building my clientele. I've only ever walked my own or friends' dogs, never for money, so I'm starting from scratch here. So far, I've posted my Rover info on Facebook and Craigslist. My area has a LARGE senior citizen population, and I'm sure there must be a way to target that demographic. My mom lives in a 55+ community, so maybe leaving some business cards in their pool house/center would be worth a shot? Any other ideas?

Hi Gabriela:

Welcome to Rover!

Yes, definitely leave business cards or flyers in their pool house, if allowed. You can also call the manager of the property to see if you can drop off advertising materials with them (and then they can provide it to new residents when they move in). You can also drop off business cards at local veterinary clinics, groomers, and pet supply/food stores. You could also order post cards from the Rover store and put them in newspaper boxes in select neighborhoods. I myself make my own tear-off ads that I post in my service area at grocery stores, pet stores, and local restaurants that have boards. You could also try a local community center, as most have boards you can post advertising on. Have you posted in your local buy/sell/trade pages on Facebook? I post to 4 of them in my area and have netted a few customers that way. You can also post to Google +. Some sitters advertise on Next Door, but from what I understand, it's a bit tricky with how you have to set it up. I hope that helps! Good Luck!
