Is anyone experiencing owners contacting you and they wont get back to you at all??

Hi I am new sitter. I have experienced that some owners will contact me and ask me if I am able to sit their pet, I tell them right away that I am available for the dates and also let them know that if they want to set the meet and greet and then they will say that they are going to text me back and they dont get back to me at all..I even sent them a follow up and no response? Any one experiencing this? Any advise on how to book people right away will be a tremendous help!

I give the potential client 24 hours to respond to my initial request for a M&G. I then send a reminder message, saying I do not make reservations and cannot guarantee a spot until after a M&G. No response after 12 hours? I archive and move on, marking owner not a good fit (they are rude, in my opinion, by not responding).

Like Maureene said, many clients contact several sitters before making a decision.

Sounds like you're doing the right things. Most owners simply reach out to multiple people at the same time. It happens to all of us at times. Hang in there! :)

If a client doesn't respond at all within a day I message them, asking if they're still interested and I generally will only give them half a day before I archive the conversation. Generally speaking the people who don't respond in a timely fashion are more likely to be difficult so I err on the side of keeping my options open.

When they don't respond I archive "Owner didn't respond"; Do you change if the owner later responds they booked with another sitter or leave it as is?

Ehh I don't think I usually bother

The thing here is that Rover tells potential client to copy and paste the same message and sends it to MANY (i'd say at least 20) people, if not more. So regular people just send this same message to 30 sitters and then don't bother responding. I've seen that many times.
