What extra do you charge for walking or bathing during daycare?

I usually take my dog our for two 15 minute walks or to the dog park, and bathe him regularly. What extra would you charge for these services?

It depends on what you include with bathing. I would check your local groomers rates and go from there. I charge according to size and coat type and My basic bath inclides bath, brush out, nail trim and file, ears cleaning. I also give $5 off when they stay over a couple nights

My fee is All Inclusive. Even though I have a backyard, my backyard gate opens into a large greenbelt where I take the dogs for short romps or when it is to hot to be on pavement. Our neighborhood is quiet and great for walking dogs. I believe the dogs need a little more exercise besides romping in the backyard. The "boys" sometimes pee on each other trying to mark the same same spot so they need to be cleaned up or a bath. If they are muddy or dirty after a good walk the need a bath.

I wouldn't charge anything extra for walking a dog in my care during the day. Bathing is something some Sitters just do as a courtesy if the client is with them long-term. Offering little things like this keeps them competitive.

What YOU choose to charge is up to you, personally. If you choose to provide those services as an add-on, determine what they are worth to you, in terms of your time and materials cost (dog shampoo, etc.), and client value. There are too many factors for someone else to determine for you, such as demand / value in your location, etc., that only you can determine. All the best!

Be Careful & check your city & state requirements- Some charge taxes on "Baths"! Posted on Rover DV site: Rover sitter wanted to include grooming as an extra service and found out if "charge for baths must pay taxes"

Of course. All monies we receive are taxed.

The tax to which Kathleen referred is entirely different. The sitter would need to charge a sales tax for baths/grooming services, which would be collected by her municipality. It isn't income tax.
