How do you charge for holidays?

Would just like a general poll on how you guys charge for holidays. Rover seems to automatically charge each night as a holiday even though the holiday is only one day. For example: July 4th is coming up soon. Rover states that any stays with July 3rd-July 4th in them are holiday stays. If you get a request for July 4th-8th, do you charge the holiday rate for all of the days? Or just July 4th and the rest are your regular rate? Just wondering. Thank you!

I charge the entire stay at holiday rates and haven't had a quibble about that. If someone were going away for a couple of weeks, then I would adjust the second week to regular rates, except for the Christmas-New Year's period, when it is all at holiday rates. This is consistent with pricing throughout the travel, as well as boarding, industry.

All of the inquires I've received this year have been for the days before and including the 4th, such as June 29-July 5, all of which would qualify as a holiday booking. I don't think I've ever received one that started on the holiday itself. Most people return on or right after the holiday.

I have a stay from today June 29th through to July 5th, it's all considered holiday pay through Rover. I normally charge $5+ on top of my regular rate for holidays, however for Thanksgiving and Christmas I'm going to do $10+ due to those holidays being worth more to me in regards of time. :) hope this helps!

I personally only charge my holiday rate ($5/visit) on the actual holiday, which does add up quickly if the client has 3 or 4 visits scheduled.

I let it stand for whatever dates they select. Especially considering Rover usually has brackets of dates selected as holiday. For example Dec 21- Jan 1 is ALL considered holiday.

Have yet to have owner say "you're overcharging me". Been on rover over a year. If the owner asked, then maybe I would drop to normal rate.

If the stay is for more than 7 days including the holiday charge my holiday rate (+15) for the day before the holiday, the day of, and the day after. All other dates get my normal charge. If the stay is less than 7 days, I charge holiday rates for the whole stay. My exceptions are Thanksgiving, which gets holiday rates Sunday-Sunday, and Christmas, which gets holiday rate from Dec. 21- Jan. 2.
