Unable to see what percentage of clients received photo updates if percentage low?

We have previously hired 2 dog sitters/walkers through Rover and have had very good experiences so far. We generally see on their profiles a section that says "80% of clients received photo updates" along with pictures of previous clients.

We recently hired a dog sitter who did not send us any photos or updates while we were away for multiple days. Yet their profile is not updated with "0% of clients received photo updates." Rather, this information is just omitted, which is something I didn't notice before hiring them.

So it seems that Rover simply omits this "% of clients received photo updates" if the percentage is poor. Is this intentional? If so, this lack of transparency is particularly deceptive on Rover's part.

Just wanted to send this out as a warning to the community in case others have seen this as well.

Hi Jean,

I apologize that to did not receive any photos during your say. I have been a sitter through Rover since 2015. From my experience with Rover, they actually really do try to keep everything open and transparent for the owners.Rovers customer support is very dedicated to making sure that both the pets and their owners are happy and had a good experience through Rover. If you (or anyone ) every feel disappointed with the services you were provided through Rover, I would recommend contacting Rover Support.
With that being said to give you a little information on how % of photos taken works. With ever booking, the owners have the option to mark the box that they would like to receive photos during their pets stay. When the owners mark this box and the sitter does not send photos it reflects negatively on the sitters account. It will hurt the sitters place position as far as where their name falls on the list of sitters. (there is a computerized ranking that Rover does not tell us, as sitters, everything that will have an effect on our position but they do tell us a few of them (which would be # of new clients who book with that sitter, # of new clients who write a positive review, # of repeat clients, and pictures taken with owners request.) Majority of theses aspects reflect the type of sitter that we are and the efforts we put in to being a sitter. As far as your question specifically on why your previous sitter does not show up with 0% of pictures taken. On the sitters profile the % of photos taken is based on the sitters last 10 clients who requested photos. Your sitter may not have watched 10 dogs through Rover yet, therefor the system is unable to calculate a percentage. Once the sitter reaches his/her 10 client mark a percent will appear on her profile. The percent that appears will at that time reflect your stay and drop her % down. Depending on what number your pet was for her watching will depend on how long not taking a picture will effect the sitter (based on the idea that the % reflects the last 10 clients. so example once the sitter gets to 10 dogs and lets say that your dog was her first stay. Once the sitter has watch 11 dogs than you as a previous client of her gets bumped back no longer effecting her %. But if lets say it was his/her 8th stay, than the sitter will have to watch 8 more dogs (taking pictures) before her % will be adjusted.- hope that makes sense.) One thing I would recommend is being that you did request for photos to be taken and the sitter did not, I would recommend that you write a review for the sitter. Reviews go a long way and can never be removed. This will allow other clients know your experience with this sitter. Reviews can help or ... (more)
