Last minute boarding, i'm thinking possible scam?

I have a last minute boarding request, the profile has very limited information and it was made in Dec. 2017. I am concerned it is not real. Should i contact rover?

Turns out it was a legit person, the dog was such an easy dog. I'm glad I took it, but for future stays I am requiring a meet and greet. Thanks everyone!

Oh yes, meet and greets are a must!

I'm not sure why you would auto assume a scam based on the info you've shared. I've had legitimate clients make their profile the same day they reach out to me, and I have long term clients (meaning I've done business with them for over a year now) that still have mostly empty profiles without any pictures.

A lot of owners don't fill out their full profiles. They may have created the profile in December but ended up not booking any services. Are there any other reasons you would think this is a scam? Has the owner asked to communicate outside of Rover, or are their messages oddly specific?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Continue to message with them and feel it out - if you still think it's not legitimate, let Rover know, archive the message and move on.

I've had a good handful of owners reach out without pictures on their account and made months back. Even a few last second, passing through town and need someone to watch over their pet for a few hours while they have dinner, get their Peterbilt inspected, etc etc. My suggestion is to treat it like a normal owner making in inquiry, do a meet and greet. Communicate through rover only and of course, book through rover only.

I agree; communicate through Rover only and have a M&G if you can. I also had a last-minute daycare with a client who was passing through town. We communicated a lot in the initial texts. It was a very rewarding experience to help them attend the birthday party !

What if they are messaging you on rover and it keeps saying this person is no longer available. He also gave me his personal number. Not sure what to do?
