Why is there no selection for Standard Poodle in the breeds?

I noticed when adding my dogs to my profile that there is no selection for Standard Poodle. Although I never leave my Poodles with anyone, I thought as a dog sitter, it would be a big surprise if you were expecting a small dog? If the weight was overlooked it could make for an akward first meeting.

There is a Standard Schnauzer.

Poodles come in three sizes Standard, Miniature and Toy and they are not just different sizes. They have different needs.

Interesting, I never noticed. You're right there's no Standard Poodle, however there is Poodle, and there's a place for you to put your pets weight into their profile, and if you upload a picture of your dog the sitter should be able to figure out that it's not a toy breed :) I'd also suggest you contact customer Support @ [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] and ask for it to be added, I'm sure it was an oversight :)

But you have Standard Schnauser? It has been my experience that unless it says Standard Poodle, people get it in their head the dog is small. I only leave my dogs with other Standard Poodle owners.

To be honest, I have nothing. I am a sitter, not a client, and I don't run this site I'm just trying to help :o) That said, that's why I suggested uploading pictures of your poodle that way the sitter can see the size of the pet, and make sure the proper weight class is selected. Hope this helps! :)

I thought the message came from Rover. Sorry. Still new. My guess is a lot of Standard owners, like me, either take their dogs with them or have other Standard owners to dog sit for them.

No worries! It can be confusing to see who the messages are from, especially if you're using a mobile device :)

If a were looking for a sitter, not being able to choose Standard Poodle would stop me from using the site
