Is there coverage for owner?

  1. If the sitter has an emergency, will someone call to let us know and if they're unable to call, is there someone who will call us to let us know something is wrong?
    1. What insurance do you have and what does it cover? Is there insurance that will cover me if something were to happen to my dog as a direct result of the sitter's negligence? If my dog bites someone during the walk or them, or injures or kills another animal, how is this handled also?
    2. Are the sitters bonded?

Emergency situations - The sitter should be contacting you. Not everyone behaves the same way. If the sitter contacts Rover, then Rover would or should contact you. It is best to communicate your expectations with the sitter you choose.

Insurance - Rover has what it calls a guarantee, not insurance. It is described here:

https://www.rover.com/guarantee/us/

You should address specific questions, if not answered on that page, to Rover's Trust & Safety Team. The number is 888-727-1140.

Bonding - Sitters are not employees of Rover; therefore, they are not bonded. Some sitters may have insurance of their own. You can ask when interviewing sitters.
