How to capture a urine sample?
Does anyone have any tips for capturing a urine sample to take to the vet?

My mom had to do this for our Beagle years ago. A Chuck-it stick seemed to be perfect! It had the long handle, and a perfect little cup at the end to catch it. She simply washed it before (to get a clean sample) and after, and it was ready to chuck balls again. Might be difficult with a male dog who lifts his leg though...
Mythbusters did this once! I think the sample cup on a stick method worked out best for them. They just followed dogs around until they picked a spot, then stuck the cup under the stream. The stick is optional, but you're probably going to get some pee on your hands.
We used plastic ladels at the hospital. Perfect! Just wait till they squat or lift a leg. I love the chuckit idea, nice long handle. ?
