How Do I Get Clients?

Hi, I'm a new dog sitter. I've raised and breed dogs since the age of 9 with my dad. It's hard to book clients or get any interested because of the competition: seasoned versus new. It's a bit depressing. Also, I've asked people who I used to help take care of their pets write reviews. So far, only 1 was able to come through. I really need this; I love animals. Just being around them makes me feel better.

Please someone tell me what to do

Welcome to Rover and best of luck. Getting those first clients can be a challenge when first starting out, some are lucky and get bookings right away, many don't and it can take time sometmes months, in my case it was 3 months for the first one.

What I recommend is for you to work on your profile to make you stand out and also tweek a few things.
Your dog preferences show only 41-100Lbs, this limits you so consider adding more weight classes Take and pass the Rover 101 quiz and get the badge it is important You service area for walks and drop-ins is set very small, consider opening it up to 5-10 miles or you won't get any requests Your about me section could use a re-write, ask a friend or family member to help you work on it. Best of luck

Something I’ve thought about doing is getting business cards with my rover profile information on them! I believe that rover also has their own business card template you can add your information on to. I would hand them out to past clients and see if they can recommend you to any of their friends or family with pets!
