Why does the rate on my sitter's profile differ from what is actually charged?

When you go to make payment, the rate is not the same as what is advertised on the profile page. I have made sure to check if it's a holiday rate or some other rate.

If you have one adult dog, then the rate applied should be fairly straightforward.

However, Rover also assesses a service fee on owners of between 5%-7% on the entire booking but not to exceed $25 in total. It is all explained here:

If that is not the difference, then you should call Rover Customer Support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] to find out.

Thank you for your answer. I am aware of the service fee, but that is not it. I actually found that prices can be different if you are on a laptop or a mobile phone. Trying to work it out with the sitter now

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you, but pricing is the same, as both are drawing info from the same source. Did the sitter modify the booking to add charges such as a late pickup fee? The change would have to be accepted by you before you pay though.

Fay, that can't possibly be true, otherwise that situation would have been brought up on this board many times over the years and it has not. Did Rover Customer Support tell you this?

I don't know if it makes a difference if you log in as a current user or if you just search the site as a guest, but there have been differences in prices. Same thing happened when trying to book a potential sitter previously. Worked things out, so everything is ok.

Glad everything worked out. Definitely an odd quirk!
