Is it normal for the owner to ask the sitter to pick up dog food, supplements and ask for my address to send money?

He first asked me to text him on his cell phone which I did. And then he asked for my name and address to send me money for the food etc. And said he would be paying me for my service fees (tips?)

I agree, scam, especially when they ask for your info off of Rover before booking and want to pay for additional things. That said, I have had clients that needed more food, meds, etc. When that is the case, I have them arrange ordering and payment and have me as the pick up person.

I’m in the same situation was it a scam?

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM it's unfortunate but lots of sitters receive booking requests from fraudulent accounts. Your best course of action is to report the person to Rover support and they will remove the fraudulent account.

I just had a man from out of town book me for two dogs. He wanted me to message him outside of Rover and to pick up “supplies “. Now I am scared to do the meet and great with him, if he even shows. I’ve asked my husband to attend but something “feels” not quite right.

I’m in the same situation as Rebecca is it actually a scam, I had told him that he would have to order it so I could pick it up to really test him
