3 month business travel starting in June, need boarding/fostering?

Cannot take my furbaby on my business trip from June for about 3 months. 9yo chihuahua/ Italian greyhound mix. Quiet, not destructive and loving. Can't take her with me. Can't spend thousands. In Phoenix az with no family or friends to watch her. What can I do? I don't want to leave her, it tears me up thinking about it.

I have watched a large shepard and his companion collie for 2 months while their parents moved to Atlanta. All went well.. Nicky

I'd highly suggest you closely review the profiles of people near you and narrow down the list to those who you think would be the best match. If you zoom in the map using the + feature, you can more easily see locals near you. Also, there are filters to focus in on best match such as price (no more than x$/nt., as well as the living situation). It appears in that area, the minimum rate is $15/nt. However, some sitters offer a discounted rate for extended long-term stays, under see additional rates. If you need help with the search process, you may want to call Rover support at [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team].

After you decide on your top choices, set up complimentary meet & greets with them and your dog to get to know each other. Ask lots of questions to help guide your decisions, so you can find someone you feel comfort with caring for your fur-kid. Discuss booking services before your trip (this could be walks, daycare, or overnight). This would primarily benefit your pet, but secondarily also allows you and the sitter to establish communications and some level of trust.

That's a tough one. If I were in that situation I would find a way to get the dog to a friend or family member. Rescues drive and fly dogs all over the U.S. and might be able to help you out for a nominal fee (maybe your employer will cover the cost).

I understand that majority of people want their dog to go to someone else's house, because it's convenient, but it gets extremely expensive during summer months. Instead you should get a pet sitter who will stay at your place. Good luck!

For Phoenix, AZ sitters, the lowest published rates are 15/night for both boarding & house sitting services. Extended stay pricing, if offered, may be less. Generally, sitters charge less for boarding than house sitting because it requires them to be displaced from their home& limits care for others

I agree. But it's an option too. I only mentioned it because due to few changes in my life, I myself just started offering this service, and because I have to bring my two dogs with me, I offer the lowest rate possible, even a discount. And there's websites where house sitter sits for free too.

And because I am in the same situation like this person, I have no family, I have no one except for my 2 doggies, I have already researched my options, and only wanted to share with him. I am fully booked until June 3rd to pet sit/ house sit, but I am more then open to spend 3 months in AZ :)
