Suggestions to add more filter options?

When I am searching on Rover I find myself frequently having to dig through sitters that meet all of my preferences. For instance, I have a pup that is more fearful of men so it would be helpful to be able to sort by gender. Additionally, it is helpful for me to know if a male will be in the home during my dog's stay - i.e. a spouse who also lives in the home. My dog isn't male aggressive but meeting them ahead of time helps!

Also, I know you can filter out homes that have no pets, but my pup actually does a lot better staying with other dogs (it helps his anxiety tenfold). So being able to include ONLY homes that have dogs is a feature I would absolutely utilize.

Does anyone have other suggestions for filter views?

For a pet care provider to add information like 'no male in the home" could possibly be dangerous. Personally, I would no like to advertise that I'm alone in my home. Unsafe practice.

I tend to think that Rover could never include a filter to be able to search by gender because of its discrimination implications, but you do have valid concerns.

You should communicate your needs, as an pet owner, to Rover directly since they do not come here. Rover doesn't listen to its sitter community, but there's always a shred of hope that it might be slightly more receptive to owners. You might want to mention the ability to truly search by zipcode and proximity without having the play with the map function.

Good luck!

If you expand the Filters section, some of the "Pets In the Home" filters you requested exist, but a combination would need to be checked. It looks like this: "Pets in the home" Doesn't own a dog Doesn't own a cat x Accepts only one client at a time Does not own caged pets x If the sitter has a dog, hopefully there will be a brief bio and pic'.

My understanding is that Rover Support has more filters to sort results (for customers who call them and ask for help). However, more filters would definitely improve in the search/match process.

A filter that I think would greatly impact many pets is accommodates separation anxiety pets (by not crating and/or leaving them to do other things/go out without them). Last I knew, support can't help with that. They recommended sitters who were also walkers, meaning they'd leave pets behind at home while walking.
