How much should I charge for keeping a dog for several hours, but not overnight?

I am new to Rover, and I am charging $35 for an overnight stay. For those sitters who take short-time dogs, do you charge per hour? How are those stays booked with Rover?

I looked at your rates to see what services you offer before answering. Since you do not offer walks, visits or daycare, You can book it as boarding and look for the line item called “Cost adjustment” which you can enter negative with a minus sign(-) followed by the amount you’re willing to discount your boarding rate. I think you’ll agree there’s a certain minimum rate that you’re willing to accept for a few/several hours—maybe that’s approx. $20-25, considering you offer 24 hours of care for approx. $35. For example, to charge $25, book it as Boarding with Cost Adjustment minus -10. I wouldn’t look at it as an hourly rate.

BTW: Holiday rate shows that you offer care on holidays for a few dollars less than you do the other days of the year. Usually, people charge more on the holidays since those are peak times of demand.

Just charge your daycare rate. That would be easiest and you didn't specify how many hours you would have the dog. As Deb said, you should establish a minimum for your time, and $22 seems totally reasonable. Keep in mind, people charge nearly that much for a half hour walk or drop-in.
