New to rover! I am a dog owner, not a sitter. How does payment work, should sitters get paid before or after the service? Do I need to pay them before I do a meet & greet? If I do a meet & greet and we don't think it'll work do I get my money back?
I'll start with the most important information. Sitters DO NOT get paid until days after a job is completed.
When you initiate a booking, Rover will ask for all payment information. You may then have a Meet & Greet with the sitter. However, your credit card is not actually charged until two more steps take place. First the sitter has to accept the job, then it is bounced back to you to confirm that you want the sitter. Then you are charged. So if you don't feel a sitter is right for you after having a M&G, the process stops. You haven't been charged. There's no money to get back.
