What are Rover fees for owners?

Nowhere on this site that I can see is it disclosed how much owners have to pay Rover for using the site. I asked the question 5 different times, 5 different ways on the FAQ section with no response even remotely addressing the query. This is relevant, no?

I might be wrong, but I don't think rover has fees for owners. At least as far as I've researched, rover gets 20% in fees from the gross total. Technically the owner is paying the fees by paying you but you lose that amount in overall profit.

There is a Rover Service Fee add to what the fees that the sitter is charging.. this is paid when a booking happens. Then Rover keeps 20% of what the sitter charged. So Rover receives their Service Fee and 20% of the sitters bill.

My booking sheet gives a total for the services charged by the sitter and then. Rover fee is added to the sitters fee. This amount is charged to my credit card. My understanding is that when the sitter receives payment it is minus 20% of what they charged. So It looks like Rover receives a fee collected with the booking charges and then again keeps 20% of the sitters fee. Isn’t that double dipping?

Based on my experience, they are charging an 11% service fee to the owners of the dog, in addition to the 20% they take from the sitters.

Yes. If you enter the dates, type of service, and pets for a booking, the total price will be shown - prior to actually clicking “book it”. (Recommendation is do not click book it until after meet & greet)

The following link shows all rover fees: https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/arti… To summarize, Rover withholds 15-25% of the booked service total before paying the service provider, which largely can be considered the cost of use of platform (connecting sitters/walkers to pet owners they don’t know, customer service/trust&safety support, and payment processing). For owners who created accounts After Sept. 2015, Rover charges a service fee to further fund operations.

NEW Update: As of March 2023 In California only, all clients are charged 25% service fees, no matter how long they’ve been rover clients. https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/arti…

Even that link doesn't say *what* the service fee for owners is...

Rover updated those pages. When the “service fee” Policy started being charged, the amount was published information - it Changes over time. As of 5/18/23, rover will charge +11% service fee (rounded) up to $50. That’s on top of 25% for CA clients=36%! For rover!
