There was a comment on Nextdoor that Rover people lose their dogs and hinted it’s a bad company. Who do i report this to? Someone was looking for work to earn extra money walking Dogs so I gave This replay.

Here's a referral for the company that does that: http://sit.rover.com/........

Then another person puts on the NET, This Comment. Is there a Legal department that I should report this to? . Nextdoor app is fairly new and growing like a weed!

Max A. Clark Community East · since 1994 Occupation: Community Coordinator for NUWI I personally would never ever use Rover. I have seen more lost dogs in the care of people from Rover. They have a pretty poor reputation.

Comments

Max A. Clark. I just started working for Rover and have had 5 wonderful clients already. I take pride in my work and am extra careful with my client's dogs and cats. I treat them like my own. I am a dog owner. I hope Rover sitters are not causing dogs to be lost

Max A. Clark// I would like you and anyone considering using Rover services to know that not all of us sitters are irresponsible and we take extra care to ensure that will never happen. It's worth taking the extra step. I am in Maryland and I take pride in my services. Go above and beyond

There's really nothing Rover can do about it, even its Legal Department. People are free to make whatever comments they like, and there's no legal recourse.

All you can do on NextDoor is write your own response that you've never had a problem with a Rover sitter or even heard of that occurring locally. While I am sure that bad things have happened to dogs under a Rover sitter's care (like getting lost or even death), they are blown out of proportion.

I have written on ND that that is why it is imperative that a dog owner perform his/her own due diligence when hiring anybody. They should have a thorough Meet & Greet with all prospective sitters and tell them exactly what they want . Communication is key . If you hire a total stranger and don't even take the take to meet with them, then you get what you deserve.

The nature of advertising and promoting services online means that anyone can write anything about good, bad, or ugly. Legally, there is absolutely no recourse for Rover.

Huh? Who are you trying to tell on, nextdoor? If someone perceives rover to be a bad company, you can't report their opinions lol.

Pet sitters lose dogs every day, not just Rover sitters. Owners lose their dogs more frequently than pet sitters. Many folks aren't fans of Rover due to bad experiences with inexperienced Rover sitters, lots of negativity is justifiable. Folks coming to Rover expect professional sitters but alas that's not the case far to often.
