Rover sitter lost my dog. What to do?

My Rover sitter lost my dog a week ago today and I’m devastated. I’m also irritated because I don’t feel like the sitter has done much - she didn’t even out posters up on her own street! - and Rover’s support is laughable.

I’ve been looking for my dog nonstop for a week and the best Rover can do is send flyers (which had my phone number wrong the first time).

Ugh! So irresponsible!

If you didn’t already, please

  • check that it’s posted correctly at pawboost.com, which pushes out to FB accounts.
  • check with local animal shelters (look at found section of website daily)
  • contact local vets, ask if they can post a copy near front desk or keep on hand in case their staff sees
  • check with any other pet friendly areas (other residential or retail buildings) if they’ll post
  • post free online at nextdoor.com (neighbors who may see), maybe craigslist too

(If you don’t have the flyer in digital form, ask rover to send it to you, so you can forward/post/print)

Hoping for a smooth and timely reunion.

When rover sends a link for your review, please provide as a warning to others who may consider that sitter. Some sitters are completely different from others and handle situations entirely differently.
