How do I post a boarding request? Alexandria, VA 22310. Desperate for my dog to board next week?

I have 4 year old Lab that I need to board May 13-23. I had a few leads here, and asked questions and while waiting for the sitters to answer, they got booked by others. Had I known that, I would have just booked and asked questions later. Sunny needs to stay in a home with a fenced in yard, with no other dogs, and no pets in the home. She has serious axiety of other dogs, but LOVES humans and ball playing and food. I thought there was a way to post sitting requests on Rover but I cant find it. Thanks in advance.

No, there is no way to post a dog sitter want ad on Rover. That is not how it is set up.

The dog owner has to search through listings to find a sitter. It is a shame that your initial contacts didn't work out. But booking first and asking questions later is not the way to go, especially when you have a dog with anxiety issues.

Select a number of sitters with a booking request and ask for a Meet & Greet, where you personally meet with the sitter(s), discuss your needs and expectations, view the premises, and see how the sitter plans to meet your needs. If the two of you click, then the sitter "accepts" the booking and you "confirm" it with Rover and payment is processed to Rover. That's how it should work ideally and it often requires some advanced planning.

Because your boarding needs are somewhat last minute, you might try calling Rover Customer Support for assistance. Their number is [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team],

Because you need a sitter who only takes one pet at a time, doesn't have a pet of their own, and has a fenced-yard, that definitely limits things for you.

I completely agree with this answer and would suggest that your dog might adapt better to a house sitter who agrees to stay in your home, without their pets or anyone else. If you go this route make sure you discuss what they can & cannot use. i.e. you share Wi-Fi password, use coffee maker etc. ok

Deb, I considered that as well as another option but then thought house sitters might be more difficult to book than a boarding situation. Also, it doesn't sound like her dog has SA but is just anxious around other dogs.

I am not available unfortunately. But some users are being beta tested for a posting feature. So if you don't have access to it yet- you may in the future!

Hello Sharon, I live in NOVA and would be willing to watch your dog during the timeframe that you will be out of town. I am new to Rover but love dogs and am the owner of two cats. Let me know if you would like to set up at Meet and Greet later today if you aren't able to secure other sitters. Thx
