What is the best way to get your 1st sitter job?

I'm new to Rover, and so I have no reviews. What do you find is the best way to get your first sitter job? Also, what would be a good rate with which to start?

Hi Jessica- Welcome to Rover. Make sure you have an awesome profile with a lot of pictures of pets you own(ed) and pet sit or pet sat for;
Ask friends, family and anyone that you have pet sat for to give you a Great testimonial;
Post to CL and have a (Professional/Business) Facebook (Keep your personal FB separate); Order business cards and pass them out to neighbors walking their dogs, dog owners you know, ask if you can leave them at apartment communities, veterinarian offices, groomers, etc.
We are getting close to the holidays and that should help you.

As for your rate, put in your zip code in rover and look at what other sitters are charging. As just starting out with rover it is best to go just a little lower and once you start to build your business you can always raise your rate.

Kathleen gave some great advice. Just be assured that it may take a little while to get your first client. Be patient, write an awesome profile, and use Rover's hints for advertising.
