I have a dog I adopted at a shelter and I've taken a guess at his breeds. I believe he is a chihuahua rat terrier mix. I think it would be fun to try one of the DNA tests. Does anyone have experience with these that they are willing to share?
I used the Amazon one and thought it was a total waste of money! My rescue dog looks like a small black lab, very thin coat, always cold. The DNA test said he was 50% cocker spaniel and some other breed, can't recall. But it really did not help just made my wallet lighter!
I did one a couple years ago on my rescue. I used the one you get on Amazon can't quite remember the name of it but it worked great
There was another thread about these tests and I posted a link to a local news show which tested them out and gave the results from different companies:
I used a DNA test on my pup; the result wasn't what we expected! :) but keep in mind, these DNA tests are not 100% accurate. We used Wisdom Panel.
