Decades of Experience Dog Sitting
Pet care experience
Howloooo!! I have a lifelong passion for dogs and have always had 2-3 my entire life. We lost our 17 year old pup to cancer as well as his 16 year old lifemate also to cancer a few years back, so I started watching dogs through Rover until our hearts mended to fill the void in our dog loving family with your pups' waggily tails and soft ears. I am good with young as well as very skilled with elderly pups and kitties. We now have two very large rescue pops, two rescue kitties, and two geckos...and an empty nest with two college grads and one last baby at UW. I no longer am able to board at my Sammamish home due to Sammamish zoning laws, however I can travel to walk your pups and/or provide travel visits to the SE Sammamish area. I do like to meet all new clients first just to see how they react to me, learn your pup(s) or kitties routines, and to answer any of your questions. I work from home, so I am here in Sammmamish 85% of the time so I have some flexibility. I do work from home so it's best to contact me at least a week out. However, if that isn't an option and you need a visit last minute, contact me and I will try my best. Please let me know in advance if you pup has any medical issues, issues with dog , people or food aggression, or any special needs. I have experience administering medication and am good especially with those lovies who are skittish, elderly or take a while to warm up. I do like to meet you and your furry family members before taking you on as a new client. Each walk/visit is at least 30 minutes. I do use the Rover app with GPS to track locations, time visited, potty breaks, etc. On visits, I provide feeding, treats, walks, potty breaks, play times, and cuddles. I do charge $28 a visit for the first pup and $10 for additional pups because I usually spend more time with multiple families so each pup gets the attention and love they deserve. I ALWAYS provide photos and video because I know my pup client's hooman always worry. I know I worried whenever I left my pups in even a friend's care. Photos help reassure all is well and videos always put smiles on your face. Thanks for reading to the end!! I have loved and cared for two rescue dogs over the years and in 2017, we rescued four more: a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) and tabby cat from Seattle Humane and a Husky Anatolian Shep golden retriever mix from Yakima Humane, and another kitten from the community. I will cuddle and spoil your babies. You will definitely have peace of mind that your furry babies will be extremely well loved and cared for like my own. I look forward to meeting you. Best, Heather

Great service! Thanks for caring for my pets last minute?
Heather was awesome to our two fur babies. She watched them over the holiday for us and even went on Xmas day. Easy to work with and the cats loved her. Highly recommended
Heather did a great job watching our two finicky cats. I liked how Heather took a couple pictures each day and sent them to us. I will have Heather watch my cats again.
Heather is so good with our fur baby! We would recommend her to anyone! I almost don't want to post this because we don't want her to get toooo popular! 😉

I no longer care for pets in my home unfortunately due to Sammamish zoning laws and a cranky neighbor that does not appreciate dogs like we do.

Questions I ask all clients 1. Behavior: Any habits I should know about? Chewing? Counter surfer? Has your pup ever marked in your house or anyone else's home? Digger? Escape artist? Just want everyone to be safe and happy. Constantly bark? Anxiety? If so, how does behavior exhibit this anxiety? 2. Health/Diet: Does she/he have his/her shots and kennel cough vaccine up to date? On flea prevention? Take any other medication? Any special needs? Any special dietary concerns? We ask all clients to bring their pups food and any treats/chews they enjoy at home. Fixed?Microchipped? 3. The most important: Is your pup totally socialized with other dogs and any aggression or excessive "alpha dog" behavior? Has she/he ever bitten, snapped or nipped at another dog or person. I am not talking rough play, but more grumbly or aggressive behavior? 4. Visit times 5. I would need to know about any dog or fear aggression. I have no problem with pitt bulls--we lost our 15 year pitt baby a few years back to cancer. If there are issues, I would be willing to play in backyard rather than walk if necessary. 6. Please let me know in advance if your dog is used to being crated or has any chewing, extreme barking or anxiety.
A typical day
I try to always send 1-2 pictures for every visit for your peace of mind. If you need care in your home, I do not stay over night since I have children to care for as well as pups I sit in my home. I do however have a college sophomore daughter and HS junior son that can often stay the night for an additional fee. I am always happy to pick up mail and water plants as part of my visits. Pet waste is always picked up if bags are provided. Just let me know! Additional pets are an additional charge, but at a discounted rate.
