Pet care experience

Pet care experience: Hi there! I'm Liz! I live in Vernon, MI with my three pups (Luna, Willow and Winston) and husband, Samuel. We are huge animal lovers! I have been around animals my entire life and have a background of puppy-sitting for as long as I can remember. I know how I would want my babies to be treated so I would do just the same for you. I will send photos and videos of your pup(s) during the visit, just as I would want! You are in good hands. Please schedule a meet a greet with me prior to the first visit, to establish a first impression with your pet and where they potentially will be staying. Vaccinations are required, and proof will be requested or approval to contact your vet if needed for vaccination proof. This includes: rabies and flea/tick. Bordetella is preferred as well.

What an absolute comfort it is to know that when we are double-booked or having scheduling conflict, our Koko has a safe and loving place to stay. I love the way Liz sends pictures and practical updates. Our girl had been “off” / acting insecure for a few days, and Liz picked right up on the difference from her last visit. This sitter knows your pet. Koko does enjoy any opportunity to spend time with Liz’s adorable pack of sweet pups. Picking her up is always such an absolute joy because you get ALL of this doggy love coming at you!

Liz was great! This was my first time using Rover, so I was extremely nervous to trust a stranger to watch my dog. Liz patiently walked me through everything to help the whole experience go smoothly. I received updates and pictures throughout the day, each day I was gone, which was wonderful! My dog is a very picky & stubborn eater, so for her to deal with that she deserves 5 stars! Thanks again Liz for everything, I truly appreciate you and we will see you on our next stay! ?

Safety, trust & environment

Safety/Environment: I play with pets based off of their energy levels, and make sure they are getting adequate outdoor time. This includes walks, fresh air or playing outdoors in general. Introducing them to my other pets so they are able to play together is also important to me. Luna is very friendly and will play with anyone. Winston will lick their face and want to sniff. Willow tries to intimidate and bark, but she’s very sweet, just needs time. A meet and greet is required to book with me, I want your pet to be familiar with myself, my dogs and home prior to the first visit. I have gates in every room in the downstairs of my home to make sure introduction goes smooth as well as the whole visit. This is also used for food reasons to make sure everyone gets fed, avoids food aggression (if any pets have that, please let me know if this exists) as well as safeness for both your pet and mine.

Information Liz C. would like to know about your pet

I am a very flexible person and want what is best for you and your dog. As well as what is best for my home, my dogs and my husband. I require a meet and greet for all dogs upon their first visit, which means I do not take last minute requests as safety is my #1 concern for all involved. I do require dogs to be crated during their stay. This is for their safety. I have found that dogs act completely different away from their owners and try to do things such as rummage for food/trash or other poor behavior that their owner doesn’t see daily at home. Items that must be brought with your dog: Food, Kennel (I have 1 small, 1 medium and 3 large crates available for use - if you are not bringing your own and are using mine, a $5 per crate/daily addition will be added to your stay - if you last minute bring a crate, the fee will be refunded. If I need to crate your dog for a safety concern, the expense will be added to your stay.). You must bring a collar for your pet, and a name tag must be attached with your name and contact information. You must also leave emergency numbers in case of emergency. These can be left via the app or you can provide them to me at drop off. Please also write a detailed note with how you expect your dog’s day to go. If they eat at a particular time or what time they typically wake up/need to go potty. This will help me adapt to their schedule and special needs. **TIPS are never required, but always appreciated. This can be done right through the app and are so appreciated. Thank you in advance. Money goes right back into my business and helps me afford to spoil visitors!**

A typical day

Typical day/ time spent with your pet: There are several overflowing bins of dog toys scattered around the house so you know your pups will be able to keep busy and have fun. I enjoy giving treats and working on tricks with our pups with fruit/veggies as well as chicken/beef treats, so if that is something you are interested in, please let me know. This would be where we would discuss if your dog has any dietary restrictions such as dairy or grain. If your dog has specific allergies, please bring your own treats so they don’t feel left out and it ensures they have something their system is used to. While it is winter, we don’t go on walks around the neighborhood because not everyone uses pet safe salt on ice. I don’t want to irritate your dog’s feet. We make up for that type of energy spent playing indoors. In the summer time, or when there is no snow on the ground, we go on daily walks around Vernon and get fresh air.

Availability

Schedule: I work from home full-time, so your dog would always have a companion throughout the day, as well as constant supervision and care. I have a desk in my dining room on my lower level so constant supervision is available. I am able to play with your pup(s) for the majority of the day and make sure they are safe and stimulated. Luna and Willow are on tight potty schedules so we go outside frequently. I do have a doggy door and they go in/out whenever they want. I am willing to teach your dog how to get in and out of it so its easier on them to go and play as well as potty! I do have a fenced in area for dogs where the doggy door leads to that I can watch 24/7 on our Ring camera, so there is constant supervision.
